For darker and tinted water, less green and more blue and orange is good. I think a little red in every lure is helpful, and often inclue some white or orange flash too. Notice the couple of UV reactive sticks of synthetics material in the tail of every lure, it increases visibility. And, always always always count on a blend of Steve Farrar's flash blend mixed with local and homegrown feathers and fibers. Beyond that, its whatever you believe, but blue, orange, red and chartruese are among the colors fish see best, given appropriate contrasts and neutral colors, however in other cases matching the hatch is important hence our creek chub inspired patterns for bigger fish.
